Who are we?

Why the name?
The name is taken from Tim Leary's eight circuit model of human consciousness. Circuit Six is the 'neuroelectric circuit' or the 'true emotional center' - the you that is thinking about thinking and consciously evolving your own operating reality.
Following his 'tune In, turn on, drop out' antics in the sixties, Leary became involved in helping the young trippers and anti-technology (ex-) hippies of the seventies become aware of the fact that drugs were only a part of the continuing evolution of the human species.
Leary resolved the dichotomy between spirituality (the "inner quest") and science/technology (the "outer quest") like this; the evolutionary purpose of technology was to help us on our "spiritual path" towards freedom, enlightenment, and immortality.
Circuit Six declares technology as an extension of your nervous system; a part of you, not intrinsically evil but liberating. Hey ho.
What do we use?
We use a couple of different PC's running Cubase - we have tried most of the other sequencers, but we can never get that sound through them.
We create the tracks using drum machines and soft synths hosted on the machines; MicroTonic, VStation and the Pro53 among many others. For FX plugins we use anything we can lay our hands on.
The only outboard gear in the studio is us and the occassional guitar.

Some of the text above was written by Arno Ruthofer in 1997 as part of a deeper discussion and explanation of Leary's eight circuit model, but the idea has shown up in many other places, especially Robert Anton Wilson's books. Check them out.
